Jonathan Davies

Jonathan Davies enjoyed a brief but impactful Great Britain rugby league career, earning 10 caps between 1990 and 1994. Switching codes from rugby union, Davies brought flair and creativity to the Great Britain setup, starring on the wing on the tour to New Zealand in 1990. An assured goal-kicker, he captained the Lions in 1992 for their 30–12 win over France in Perpignan, and then secured the full back position for the 1993 home series against the Kiwis. But Davies’ finest moment came in the First Test of the 1994 Ashes series against Australia at Wembley, where he scored a spectacular fifty-metre solo try that secured a memorable win for Great Britain.
