Tim Street became a cult hero at Leigh during his lengthy career with the club. A powerful and strong running prop forward, he joined Leigh in the late 1980s and quickly established himself as a key figure in the forward pack. Making 249 appearances in three separate spells with the club, Street was known for his rampaging runs and a confrontational style that would sometimes sail close to the wind. Whilst a disciplinary record of 12 red cards made him something of a pantomime villain amongst opposition supporters, he remained a firm fans’ favourite at Hilton Park.
