Clive Sullivan was an iconic and trailblazing winger for Hull FC, known for his incredible speed and finishing ability. His early career had to be combined with his role in the British Army, but he started as he meant to go on, scoring a hat-trick of tries in an electrifying debut. Despite a series of niggling injuries, ‘Sully’ continued to score tries by the bucket load, including a club record 7 tries in one game against Doncaster in 1968. Sullivan’s contributions on the field and his status as the first black captain of any British national team cemented his legacy as a legend at Hull FC and in rugby league history.
