Garry Schofield was a standout performer for Great Britain, earning a record 46 caps between 1984 and 1994. A supremely talented centre or stand-off, Schofield provided supporters with countless memorable moments. In 1984 at the age of just 18, he scored a spectacular try at Lang Park against the Australians. He went on to score a record four tries against New Zealand in the 2nd Test at Wigan in 1985. A stellar year in 1990 involving series against both the Kiwis and Kangaroos saw him awarded the Golden Boot as the world’s best player, and in 1992 he led the Lions to an unforgettable win over Australia in Melbourne.
