
Mal Meninga was a dominant force in Australian rugby league, representing his country from 1982 to 1994. A gigantic centre with incredible power and leadership, he played 46 Tests for Australia. Meninga was a key figure in seven Ashes series wins over Great Britain. He was also a part of the unbeaten 1982 and 1986 Kangaroo tours, and was then appointed captain for the 1990 and 1994 tours. He also led Australia to their 1992 World Cup win,beating Great Britain at Wembley. Renowned for the blockbusting runs that made him a defender’s nightmare, Meninga remains one of Australia’s most successful ever captains.
