Marcus Bai

Marcus Bai was a powerful, hard-running winger and crowd favourite, playing both wing and centre for the Kumuls. After beginning his career with the Port Moresby Vipers, he was selected to represent Papua New Guinea at the 1995 World Cup. Whilst his international playing opportunities were limited, Bai’s quality saw him excel in both the UK Super League and the Australian NRL competitions, playing over 250 games at the top level and crossing for 127 tries. He went on to represent Papua New Guinea in a second World Cup in 2000, where they finished the group stage unbeaten before bowing out in the quarter finals.
