Mal Meninga

Mal Meninga made a significant impact during his time at St Helens, despite his stint only lasting one season. Joining the club in 1984 from Australia, Meninga quickly became known for his formidable presence as a centre, combining power, speed, and exceptional skill. His arrival coincided with a period of rejuvenation for St Helens, and he played a crucial role in their Lancashire Cup victory over Wigan and scored a brace of long-range tries in the Premiership Trophy final to help claim a 36-16 win over Hull Kingston Rovers. Circumstances prevented Meninga from playing more seasons, but his legacy was secured.
