Alan Hardisty

Alan Hardisty is arguably one of the finest British stand-offs of all time. Having made his debut for Castleford against Keighley in September 1958, he went on to captain the side and led them to numerous honours in the 1960s. Hardisty captained Castleford to two successive Challenge Cup final wins at Wembley – scoring a try in the 11-6 victory over Salford in 1969, and sustaining a shoulder injury in the 7-2 victory over Wigan in 1970. With 401 appearances, As a Castleford Hall-of-Fame inductee, he is fourth on the club’s all-time appearance list and is also the club’s highest all-time try scorer with 206.
