Frank Myler

Frank Myler was a distinguished centre or stand-off for Widnes, celebrated for his leadership qualities and classy playmaking skills. Joining the club in 1955, he started his career as a talented 17-year with good acceleration, and an ability to beat his opposite man with a side-step or change of pace. A tactically astute player, Myler developed in to a quality stand-off with excellent game-sense and the silky skills to create try-scoring opportunities for his teammates.His leadership was crucial in guiding Widnes to their 1964 Challenge Cup win over Hull Kingston Rovers, scoring a try in the 13-5 victory at Wembley. A Widnes legend, Myler was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 1992.
