
Colin Dixon was a powerhouse for Salford, known for his blockbusting running and strong tackling. Joining the club in 1968 from Halifax, Dixon became a cornerstone of Salford’s pack and finished his first season as the Championship’s highest scoring forward with 20 tries. A formidable presence in both attack and defence, Dixon played a key role in Salford’s dominant period in the 1970s, helping the club secure two Championship titles in 1974 and 1976. Over his 12-year career with Salford, Dixon made over 400 appearances and scored 91 tries, cementing his legacy as one of the club’s all-time greats.
