Clive Sullivan

Clive Sullivan joined Hull KR in 1974 after a distinguished career at local rivals Hull FC, Just as he had done for their West Hull rivals, he quickly became a key player for KR. His flair and try-scoring prowess were instrumental to the team’s successes during the mid-1970s, including helping them achieve a Yorkshire Cup win in 1974, and a Floodlit Trophy victory in 1977. Arguably his finest moment in the red and white came in the legendary 10-5 win over Hull FC in the 1980 Challenge Cup final at Wembley. Sullivan is one of the all-time greats of the game, and is so well regarded in the city of Hull that the city’s main approach road between the Humber Bridge and the city centre was named in his honour.
